March is Sleep Apnea Awareness Month

March is Sleep Apnea Awareness Month, a time to spotlight a serious — and often overlooked — health condition affecting millions of Americans.

Sleep apnea is more than loud snoring. It’s a chronic disorder that causes breathing to repeatedly stop and start during sleep, reducing oxygen levels and preventing the body from getting restorative rest. Left untreated, sleep apnea has been linked to major health risks including high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, depression, and increased risk of accidents due to daytime fatigue.

What makes sleep apnea especially concerning is how often it goes undiagnosed. Many people live with symptoms for years without realizing their exhaustion, irritability, brain fog, or poor sleep quality may be caused by a medical condition.

That’s why this month matters.

Raising Awareness Through State Resolutions

This March, we’re proud to support efforts to expand awareness through official state recognition. We are currently working with legislators to pass Sleep Apnea Awareness Month resolutions in Arizona, California, and Massachusetts — helping elevate the importance of screening, diagnosis, and treatment.

These resolutions are an important step in driving public education and encouraging people to speak with their doctor if they experience symptoms like loud snoring, gasping during sleep, morning headaches, or persistent daytime fatigue.

Treatment Works

The good news is that sleep apnea is highly treatable. Solutions like oral appliance therapy and CPAP can dramatically improve sleep quality, reduce health risks, and help people feel like themselves again.

Sleep is foundational to every part of health — and no one should have to live exhausted.

This March, join us in spreading awareness. If you or someone you love is struggling with sleep, it may be time to take a closer look.
